JihadTrain – The Moral Failure of Cat Stevens

The late 1970s conversion to Islam of Cat Stevens, the most popular singer-songwriter in the world at the time, came as no surprise to those who followed the deep threads of searching that he wove throughout his songs. Cat had always been a searcher, searching for “something” as was the popular motif during those days.

Always searching, he finally found what he didn’t know he had been looking for, Islam. His embrace of religion was the not-surprising conclusion to his extensive songbook of yearning and searching for “something”,  his selection of Islam and his subsequent and continuing embrace of jihad is a profound disappointment and a deep betrayal of the entirety of western culture and the finer concepts of love and brotherhood, forgiveness and humanity about which he so consistently wrote and sang.

For me personally, I learned the guitar because of my affection for Cat Stevens’ music. I learned his songs, playing them for hours at a time. His conversion to Islam and his embrace of Islamic domination of all others; his support of the death of Salmon Rushdie, his financial support of terrorist organizations that eventually got him placed on a US “no-fly” list was a personal disaster to me. Owning all his records, and now CDs as I do, they sit now unlistened.

But it is also a cultural disaster for the world because his music was so stunningly beautiful and so indicative of acceptance and love. I do not listen to the music of pseudo failed artists who support global jihad - neither should you.

Last week, Cat Stevens played a venue in Los Angeles for the first time in 20 years. The review in the LA Times was sycophantic, fawning, and as out-of-context as it possibly could have been. There was no mention of his Islamism, Rushdie, terrorism links, nothing.  They failed to mention this:

He also courted controversy by allegedly funding charities that were fronts for the Islamic militant group Hamas. Israeli authorities have barred Islam twice from entering the country because of his alleged ties to Hamas. (source)

There were some Hollywood glitterati in attendance. There is no question, his voice is astounding, but his ethics are revolting. The Hollywood types cared not a whit.

It was an invitation-only event, potentially a prelude to an actual concert tour, and the audience was dotted with celebs, including Josh Groban, Colin Farrell, Rosanna Arquette, Cameron Crowe and Jake (Body by Jake) Steinfeld.

In the now obvious theme of journalistic ignorance, intellectual dishonesty (bias) and white-washing the “reviewer” commented that Cat Stevens, now an entirely different entity named “Yusuf Islam” was not proselytizing but was “reconnecting” with his old fans who appeared to know nothing about his new self, or don’t care. The truth is that everything “Yusuf Islam” does in public is dawa, converting people to Islam with propaganda and falsehoods.

He also made it effortless for fans to reconnect with him personally, even for those who can’t fully comprehend the scope of his conversion three decades ago to the Islamic faith. His new songs reflect a perspective of one who, unlike Bono, has found what he’s looking for spiritually, but never in a proselytizing or patronizing way. (Source: LA Times)

Mr. Stevens/Islam is now two people; he is a man with a laudable past, a man who once embraced brotherhood and peace but now an emissary of a totalitarian ideology who embraces a brutal and intolerant way of life whose purpose is global expansion and the destruction of every culture and form of religion or government that is not Islamic. This is the doctrine of Islam, and as a total believer Mr. Stevens/Islam embraces this horrific ideology in its entirety.

In 2007, Mr. Stevens/Islam received an “award” from MEDEA for his work in bridging the gap between the Arab world and Europe. Unfortunately, the Islamic concept of “peace” only includes a world in which there are no other religions; this is the concept of “dar al-Islam”. There is only “peace” where Islam reigns; everywhere else is war “dar al-harb”.

Stevens/Islam said that he has read the Koran and that is why he converted to Islam, you know, for the message of peace that he found there. He said, in August, 2005, that

The message I picked up from the Qur’an was quite different. I found the light of knowledge and godliness shining from the verses and stories, linking mankind together as one family, regardless of color, status or nationality. It told me of the wondrous universal teachings of peace and unity advocated by the greatest of educators, people such as Abraham, Moses, Jesus and others. (source)

The Salmon Rushdie affair is illustrative of the profound change that has occurred within this person formerly known as Cat Stevens. Once a global spokesman for peace, understanding, tolerance, love, and goodwill, Mr. Stevens/Islam called publicly for the death of a writer whose book he does not approve (because his new “ideology” does not approve it). This is anti-art, anti-intellectualism, anti-creativity, and anti-human, all foundational principles of the doctrine of political Islam. This is the polar opposite of what Cat Stevens used to be.

May 22, 1989: The musician known as Cat Stevens said in a British television program to be broadcast next week that rather than go to a demonstration to burn an effigy of the author Salman Rushdie, ”I would have hoped that it’d be the real thing.” …

He also said that if Mr. Rushdie turned up at his doorstep looking for help, ”I might ring somebody who might do more damage to him than he would like.”

”I’d try to phone the Ayatollah Khomeini and tell him exactly where this man is,” said Mr. Islam, who watched a preview of the program today and said in an interview that he stood by his comments. (source)

Interviewed on Larry King’s show in early October of 2004, Mr. Stevens/Islam let it “all hang out”.

“And the first thing that came so clear to me was this declaration in the belief in one God in this universe. You know, now that’s powerful. That’s powerful. Of course, in the Jewish faith, you know, that’s fairly well known but — but here, it was a universal approach. It wasn’t now, you know, if you like a racial approach where it was only owned by Arabs. The Quran was talking to me in terms of humanity. I’d never heard that before.

When I saw the name of Jesus and Moses, Abraham, along with the prophet Mohammed, of all these prophets mentioned in the Quran, that was quite startling. I never expected that.” (Larry King interview, transcript)

This is taqiyyah, sacred deception. Mr. Stevens/Islam must know that the Koran is very clear about universality, in that there isn’t any. Muslims are not allowed to befriend Jews and Christians and any unbelievers; the Jesus, Moses, and Abraham stories of the Old and New Testaments are lifted from the original holy books so that all of them are Islamic prophets in Islam. Mr. Stevens/Islam’s education in Koranic studies perhaps was not as thorough as it should have been. And, after all this time, one would think he would have done his homework and “caught up”. This is likely.

He is “caught up” now but he is no longer Cat Stevens the lover of humanity; he is now the creature “Yusuf Islam”, the perpetrator of deception and falsehoods, and the proponent of global jihad. There have been fewer more public transformations than his.

The Larry King interview performance is textbook taqiyyah.

KING: So a Muslim who commits terrorism is going totally against his faith?

ISLAM: Yes. I mean, this is obvious. And the Quran is very clear about it. You know, if you look at the teachings of Quran, which I learned when I became a Muslim, you know, what does it say? It says belief, you know, and good deeds. Well, you tell me how to do good deeds. Good deeds is prayer, it’s charity, it’s fasting, it’s speaking the truth. It’s being honest.

So you know, it’s an antithesis of what Islam stands for, and therefore, you know, we completely condemned it. It’s abhorrent.

And if you study the history of Islam — when it was correctly applied in this world, it was tolerant, there’s always the room for people of different faiths living together.

If only this were truth. It is not.

There is no tolerance in Islam for unbelievers, and little for Muslims themselves. The 1.5 million people fleeing the Taliban, the great implementers of the doctrine of Islam, is evidence of this. The doctrine is cruel and brutal to everyone, believers and unbelievers alike. Those who know it, flee.

The suggestion that Islam is tolerant is false. Islam is not tolerant of any other faith, culture or political system. Islam is a form of totalitarianism akin to Stalinism and Nazism. Mr. Stevens/Islam knows this, but he does not care. He is a believer, woe to the unbeliever. (Was “Woe to the Unbeliever” ever a Cat Stevens tune? No.)

A statistical study of Islam recently undertaken by Mr. Bill Warner shows that there is a peaceful component of Islam.

The Sirais Mohammed’s biography (sira is an Arabic word that means biography, but Sira is reserved for Mohammed) and has three versions by three authors. The most definitive is by Ibn Ishaq, Sirat Rasul Allah, translated by A. Guillaume as The Life of Muhammad….

Based upon the Sira, Islam is 2% peace, 28% argument and threats, and 70% jihad. If the Sira were a two-hour movie, then the peaceful part would last for nearly 3 minutes, the fist fights, brawls, arguments and threats would last 34 minutes and the killing would take up 83 minutes. But the movie ends with the beaten kafirs saying that they will do whatever Mohammed wants, if he will only stop the jihad. (Bill Warner, PoliticalIslam.com)

A great deal of the doctrine of Islam deals with the Jews. Islam does not like the Jews. The Jews rejected Mohammed’s prophethood, Mohammed hated them for it, so then do all Muslims. Mr. Stevens/Islam has another interpretation for those who know nothing of the matter.

KING: Does the Quran at all attack Judaism? I’ve never read the Quran, but I’ve heard this through the years that the Quran — parts of the Quran are anti-Semitic.

ISLAM: Well, I think part of the New Testament would be too if you analyze it. I mean, Jesus is reported at some point to have been correcting certain Pharisees and scribes and saying, oh you, whatever.

Of course, there are verses in the Quran which try to, if you like, correct maybe some deviations, but as far as the Jewish faith is concerned, let me tell you a verse in the Quran, a very important verse. It says: “Those who believe,” means Muslims in this case, “and those who are Judized (ph) and those Sadains (ph) and the Christians, whoever believes in God and the last day and does good works, no fear shall come upon them, neither shall they grieve.”

That is a verse of the Quran, Larry. Now, a lot of people don’t get to that part. They look at some of the sections, which, yes, they talk about certain wars which took place. Again, some of those are historical and have to be read in context. But the general principle is that there is no compulsion in religion and life is sacred, simple as that.

Islam hates all non-believers (kafirs), but reserves a special hatred for Jews.  There is this “PeaceTrain” for all unbelievers, it is a train to Auschwitz:

Koran, 2:191 – And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.  (source)

For the Jews, there are many doctrinal comments about killing:

Sahih Bukhari Hadith Volume 4, Book 52, Number 176: Narrated by ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar: Allah’s Apostle said, “You (i.e. Muslims) will fight with the Jews till some of them will hide behind stones. The stones will (betray them) saying, ‘O ‘Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.’” Sahih Bukhari Hadith Volume 4, Book 52, Number 177: Narrated by Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. “O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.” (source)

Things are not much better for those who want to leave Islam. Islam is something like LaCosaNostra, or “the Company” – nobody leaves:

Koran: 4:089 – They desire that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike; therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah’s way; but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper.  (source)

One wonders which Koran Mr. Stevens/Islam read when he converted to Islam. There is one Koran, wherein it says to kill Jews and hate the unbelievers and kill and hate those who want to leave Islam. There is but one God this God says the same, there can be no religion but Allah’s religion. All kafirs must convert, be enslaved, or die.

Where is the beauty in Koran? Perhaps there is some small speck left of what was Mr. Cat Stevens. Perhaps the Islamic concepts of charity are what got him so interested in Islam, interested enough to embrace its totalitarian concepts of existence. Many searchers finds absolutism attractive, this is likely what happened with Cat Stevens. It does not matter that Islam is opposed to everything he ever said, ever sang about prior to his conversion; what matters is that his searching is over, his questions (every one of them forever) are now answered, and he can rest.

You learn fasting. You learn — well, you might already be giving charity, but here you learn how to give — you have to give charity. It’s not a question of an option or a voluntary choice. You have to give charity. (Larry King interview, see above)

Islam believes in charity… but only for Muslims; the kafir, the unbeliever is not considered worthy of Islamic charity.

A person who calls himself or herself a Muslim might offer help to a kafir out of true generosity. But let’s closely examine the psychology of this event. The only way for a Muslim to give freely to a kafir is to not see him as a kafir, but as a fellow human being, an equal deserving compassion and empathy. But a kafiris not ever equal to a Muslim. Seeing humanity as one is contrary to the Islamic doctrine of kafir and believer found in the Koran. Humanity-as-one is a kafir concept, not an Islamic concept. ….

The zakat is the Islamic charity.
The zakat is to be given to eight categories: the poor, those short of money, administrative costs, those whose hearts are to be reconciled, slaves to buy their freedom, those in debt, jihadists, and travelers who need assistance. A kafir (a non-believer) is forbidden to receive money from the zakat.
So Islam, as a corporate body, does not give charity to kafirs. (Warner, PoliticalIslam.com)

What Mr. Islam has lost is his soul, what we have all lost is a great artist and humanitarian. Cat Stevens is gone, he is a wisp in YouTube movies and captured on CDs and LPs around the world. His lyrics are beautiful as are his guitar work, and singing. Mr. Stevens repudiated and abandoned the principles and moral/ethical concepts that are the foundation of his music and artistic output. So much of his lyrics talk of searching. Mr. Islam believes he is found, but he is truly lost.

Islam - Mohammed married Aisha when she was 6 years old, consummated the marriage when she was 9. In the Islamic doctrine whatever Mohammed has done, since he is the perfect example of humanity, is the right thing to do, even if it’s wrong.

Interview with Dr. Abd Al-Hamid Al-’Ubeidi, an Iraqi expert on Islamic law, which aired on Al-Rafidein TV on March 14, 2008:

Many criminals, the enemies of Islam, ask: “How could the Prophet Muhammad, at 52 years of age, marry ‘Aisha when she was only 8 years old, and consummate the marriage when she was 9 years old?” I say to them: People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Why do you permit your young girls to fornicate? They consider it one of their liberties. Therefore, in these stupid countries, you rarely find girls aged 10 or 12 who are still virgins. They permit this. They have even legislated laws stating that if a girl is under the age of 18, and her girlfriend [sic] or whatever has had sex with her, she has the right to have an abortion. How can you permit the outcome without accepting the cause? Why do you allow your girls to have sex and say this is an individual liberty? It is okay to fornicate with girls there or force them to have sex, and so on, and they have the right to have an abortion. If you permit all this before the age [of 18], without a marriage contract and without any legal grounds – how come you forbid marriage? (source)

There is no Peace Train; there is only Universal JihadTrain. This is a train that must be derailed. Cat Stevens is gone, don’t let Yusuf Islam tell you otherwise.

This Unbelievable Future – A Report of the Fall of England

Today the Chapter Leader of WestNashville ACT received a very disturbing email from a fellow ACT person in the United Kingdom. This was an entirely unsolicited reply and came in response to greetings from Nashville. This letter should be forwarded around the country and seen as the warning that it is.

I asked for permission to disseminate this very important email as ”the unbelievable future” described is the model for our future as well, unless we oppose Sharia law and the expansion of political Islam.

This is an important warning, and should inspire us to work harder.  The author is insightful, concerned, a good observer, and fearful for the future of the UK as we are about our superb country. The news from England is not good.

Islam is really on the rise here in the UK and in London some muslims regularly march through London, always with a police escort, shambling along in what they call a march for islam for the UK.  Recently these affairs have been more threatening as they’ve featured the dawa, or call to the infidel to convert to islam, which as you probably know, traditionally precedes the next stage which is the murder of the non-believers. 
 
I doubt if many people realised that it was the dawa (Admin. note: conversion of the unbelievers; missionary propaganda) that they were calling out, or the implications of it.  A recent march took place in Bethnal Green, London, and you can see a video of it on the home of the green arrow website, if you look at essays on islam.
 
I don’t think they have sufficient numbers or power yet here to actually start killing us, but that is clearly their longterm intention.  They will not show their true hand just yet, but they are well over the half way mark in their plan to take our country.
 
The govt has agreed not to oppose sharia law but to introduce it smoothly and slowly over the next 12 to 20 years.
 
Most people here haven’t a clue about islam or the threat looming over us, and believe in the myth of the moderate muslim.  The nationalist party tells the truth, but are called liars, nazis, racists and fascists by the very people they are trying to educate and save.  Such has been the power of multicultural relativism and political correctness over the last 3 decades.  If it wasn’t so tragic it would be funny.  We have hate-filled muslims handling baggage at our airports.
 
Whether the govt knew the eventual outcome of islamic law, namely the murder of the indigenous British population, is open to question.  It’s possible that they, like almost everyone else, knew hardly anything about islam and were perhaps deceived and lied to by muslims at the start.  But they certainly know now, where it’s heading, and they are caving in to it.  I just can’t understand this.
 
For the past few decades there has been a plot to undermine and destroy all traces of our Judaeo-Christian values (this is fact, not some conspiracy theory, and I think it’s the same in the USA).  So it suited the politicians to use islam in this endeavour.  But they perhaps hadn’t understood that islam wouldn’t just go away after it had served its demonic purpose and the muslims gained enough power.  Geert Wilders’ visit here was cancelled because Lord Ahmed, a muslim in the House of Lords, threatened to get an army of 10,000 muslims to attack the Houses of Parliament.  (Admin. note: According to Melanie Phillips of the UK Spectator, Wilders’ visit was cancelled as a direct result of Ahmed’s threat against Parliament. “But various representatives of the British Muslim community protested; and Lord Ahmed issued a threat that he would personally mobilise 10,000 Muslims to prevent Wilders from entering the Upper House and would take the peer organising the event to court. In the face of such threats, the meeting was cancelled.”) This kind of intimidation happens all the time and extends to publishers and anyone else who attempts to speak the truth about islam.  Ahmed himself was recently jailed for a car crash in which a young man was killed, Ahmed was texting on his mobile phone at the time but guess what, he was out of jail after 16 days.
 
Whatever the case, the fact is, we’re now stuck with this nightmare.
 
Short of some kind of miracle, I can’t see what’s going to happen now to help us avoid this unbelievable future on the horizon.
 
My immediate friends and family do  not grasp the enormity of all this, or if they do get a glimpse, they are fatalistic and defeatist.
 
A guy whose internet name is Lionheart writes on the net, he lives in Luton where the muslims spat at our soldiers the other week, and is under death threat from muslims for what he writes.  You can sign up to his newsletters and videos to get a clear picture of the situation here.  He never advocates violence.
 
Anyway that’s all for now.

I should have also mentioned that there are now whole cities, such as Birmingham, which are mainly islamic with muslims living under sharia law.  These are no-go areas for whites, even the police.  Gang rapes, attacks and drug peddling are all everyday events against what’s left of the original population.  People who can read the writing on the wall, and have the means to emigrate are doing so, hence the ‘white flight’ which though understandable isn’t helping the demographics; we’re being outbred by muslims 10 to 1 in some places and nationally on average by 1 to 5. But… he was such a nice fellow!!! – How Jihadists are Made

Several days ago Bill Warner, one of the leading analysts and scholars of political Islam and Islamic doctrine posted an analysis of the “Bush Doctrine of Islam”. Mr. Warner suggested strongly, and laid out the case, that former President Bush’s assertion that Islam is the “religion of peace” hijacked by “extremists” is the foundation of the left’s and the dhimmi’s failure to understand the reality of the cruelty and fundamental hatred of America and freedom that lies at the core of the doctrine of Islam.

Our wide-ranging lack of knowledge of Islamic doctrine, our inability as a culture and society to come to terms with the fact that Islam is fundamentally opposed to everything that Americans hold most dear is at the root of the advance of Islam in America. Mr. Warner calls out the media and academics for towing this entirely false line based upon ignorance and wishful thinking. Academics are essentially anti-intellectual in their defense of political Islam and their often harsh criticism of those who attempt to discuss the doctrine of Koran, Suna, and Hadith and the oppressive “legal system” of Islam, sharia.

The article elicited the following response from a former FBI special agent and now current professor. Apparently, he wanted to show Mr. Warner and his readers that not all professors are self-destructive dhimmis and apologists for political Islam. The author presents a fascinating and important socialogical study of jihadists and how they are created. The article convincingly details how 2nd and 3rd generation Muslim immigrants to the West have become jihadist killers. These are the people that immigration theorists considered to be the foundations of assimilation for the future. The theories are wrong, because the theorists did not know Islamic doctrine.

This is a frightening look at how otherwise pleasant and apparently settled Muslims can be brought readily into their doctrine, and taught that to bring about the perfect world of Dar al-Islam it is perfectly acceptable and beneficial to kill unbelievers. The comparison with SS true-believers is not at all out of context. There is a sense of “cult” in the way that otherwise pleasant people are turned to killers. The Salafists believe that only Jihad can reestablish a true Muslim state that will abolish all injustice from the earth and bring people out of the servitude to others and into the servitude of God. It is the duty of Islam to destroy all political systems which prevent people from freely choosing it and experiencing universal freedom (56). The sword (Jihad) must clear the way for the preaching and destroy those elements which limit mankind to living in a world of evil and chaos (62). This sword would be carried by a restored Caliphate based on the traditions of the Prophet. The Caliphate would be a leader the masses could trust, understand and follow. He would provide a simple message well suited to Muslims, not well schooled in traditional Muslim teachings. This message is liberating the Umma from its external enemies, the infidels and Jews (al-Zawahiri, 2001: part 11).

It is difficult to generalize about the characteristics of the Salafist. Most of these individuals, approximately 80 percent, went to secular schools as children. Over 60 percent had some form of college, many attending in the West, and most were trained in the sciences, not philosophy or religion. However, a majority considered themselves religious as children; 73 percent were married and most had children. The majority were from overprotected families with doting parents and stable households. They did not suffer from any major mental disorders. If they had antisocial personalities, they would have been weeded out because of their inability to work well in an organization and their lack of dedication, perseverance and ability to sacrifice for the cause. The 9/11 hijackers are perfect examples. They were not hostile, violent or macho throughout their yearlong stay in the U.S. However, when the moment came they killed enthusiastically. They were able to do so because of their social networking and group morality, which was developed over years. These individuals were not predisposed to do harm individually, but did not hesitate to perform monstrous acts collectively (Sageman 2004: 74-82).

This original group joined the Jihad in their mid-twenties in a country where they had not grown up. Although they were, for the most part, religious as children, they became considerably more devout immediately before joining the Jihad (92). The subsequent group of Salafists were second- or third-generation Muslims living in the West. Many of these individuals felt excluded from the society they grew up in, had no discipline in their lives, and pursued petty crimes, drank and took part in drug use. They grew up with little or no religious training (100-101). We will go into greater detail later on this second group, but for now it is important to note a similarity between both groups prior to joining the Jihad. They felt alienated in their current society. This was true for the first group who had immigrated to another country and the second group who felt alienated in the country of their birth. They both sought a cause that would give them emotional relief, social community and spiritual comfort (97). They eventually drifted towards like-minded local individuals.

The original group sought out the mosque in the foreign country where people from their homeland were. These prospective converts may initially have had strong reservations about the group’s doctrines, but began developing strong ties of friendship with members of the group. There they began to form networks of friendships that solidified over a period of time. Sub groups were formed within the mosque where the intensity of their beliefs spiraled upward in an apparent game of one-upmanship. They found rules and structure that went beyond religion and became psychological and personal (108-109). They became embedded in a socially disembedded network, which, because of its lack of anchor to any society, is free to follow abstract and apocalyptic notions of a global war between good and evil (151). Instead of a top-down process of recruitment, it became a bottom-up process of young people volunteering to join the organization. They joined as a group, not as individuals. The East African embassy bombings and the Lackawanna Six involved individuals were close friends prior to joining the Jihad. Most of these relationships go back to childhood or are familial in nature, including in-laws and spouses. The crucial element is that social bonds predated formal recruitment into the Jihad. (110-113)

This process is rarely a fully conscious one. These sub-groups do not start out as terrorist groups. They evolve in that direction as their mutual relationships deepen, in a spiral of greater loyalty, mutual devotion, self-sacrifice and intimacy. They begin to believe that their actions are taken on behalf of God. Although outsiders focus on their willingness to kill, the insiders focus on their willingness to die. Their awareness of their own readiness to transcend their own self- interest fosters a special view of themselves and others like them that increases the value of friendship within the group and diminishes outside relationships. These feelings may compete with, and even be stronger than, those of love.

Ziad Jarrah’s fiancé testified about her progressive loss of her fiance’s love to the Hamburg terrorist cell which planned and carried out the 9/11 attacks. The loss of love to this type of friendship demonstrates its powerful bond. Positive emotions motivate people to carry out horrific acts more easily than negative emotions. Killing in defense of family, friends or country is acceptable and encouraged. Perhaps the 9/11 perpetrators carried out their horrendous actions out of in-group love rather than out-of-group hate (155-157). As was previously stated, the Jihad strives in the cause of God to abolish all injustice from the earth in order to bring people to the worship of God alone and to bring them out of servitude to others-to abolish those oppressive political systems, which prevented people from freely choosing Islam.

Islam is one of the most communal of all religions, with many orchestrated, shared rituals. Salafi Islam is very strict in its code of conduct and prescribes dress, diet and conduct. The elegance and simplicity of its interpretations attract many who seek a single solution devoid of ambiguity. Salafi Islam uses tactics developed by other totalitarian ideologies, such as fascism and communism. It promotes a visual apartheid to distinguish its adherents from the rest of society. The specific uniform consists of beards, shirts falling down to the knees, and baggy pants with a cloth cap. They also carry worry beads. Women cover their hair, avoid bright colors, and, in some instances, wear the burqa, which is head-to-toe covering. They have simple answers to complicated problems, and they divide the world into good Islam and bad non-Islam (116).

There is another subtle factor that makes Islam attractive. Traditional masculine roles are well preserved in Islam. Western men find it difficult to express their “manhood” in increasingly neutered societies. Islam possesses what are seen as masculine virtues from the seventh century when men walked the earth, sword in hand, accepting no insult, and conquering infidel neighbors. In comparison to Christianity, which states “turn the other cheek and pray for those who persecute you,” Islam comports more closely with man’s primordial lusts for war, booty and women (Ibrahim, 2006).

People will often seek a new religious or social affiliation after some significant change disrupts their old social networks, e.g., a new country, imprisonment, and alienation from friends and family. There is a period of social isolation in which the existing social and emotional ties are called into question and loosened until finally there is a total negation of everything that existed before (Sageman 2004:116). The religious revivalist organization possesses superior attractiveness over a secular political group. The Salafist emphasizes brotherhood, mutual sharing and spiritual support, which becomes the functional equivalent of an extended family.

New adherents progressively accept the new faith because it makes sense in their new interpretation of the world and their role in it. This learning process involves intense social interaction and introspection. The adherents distance themselves from their original network of friends and family or are rejected by them because of their new, highly visible behavior. The mastering of their friends’ beliefs comes after a long period of intense day-to-day interaction with them. In many cases they begin living an isolated lifestyle, which intensifies the social bonds of the members. This leads to a spiral of further isolation from the outside world, the development of a collective identity, and total commitment to the group. Muslims may engage in the Jihad because they share certain norms, values and worldviews which are shaped under the guidance of a Salafi imam preaching the benefits of the global Jihad. Social interactions at these mosques build and reinforce ideological commitments to the Jihad, which these new friends further encourage (117-121).

This social jihadism has worked with second- or third-generation Muslims and new immigrants as well. This development is a paradox to many sociologists, who figured that radical Islam was confined to newcomers who brought it with them. With time, the theory went, immigrants and their children would moderate their views. Instead, it is Europe’s second- and third-generation Muslims who are the most radical. Many of these individuals believe their European society is against them. They are growing up in a world of high unemployment and lack of integration in their homeland. Some begin drinking, doing drugs, becoming members of youth gangs and engaging in crimes with no moral compass or goal in life. They then become introduced to an individual who talks to them about the world, their place in it, and the religion of their ancestors. They are provided with audio and videotapes of preachers who advocate a stripped-down form of Islam that emphasizes the culture’s past glories and a handful of simple religious regulations.

Soon they are meeting with like-minded contemporaries, getting rid of jeans, t-shirts, drugs and alcohol and wearing the white gowns, skullcaps and beards. They become indoctrinated into political Islam, which preaches a Utopian view of society where all citizens are part of a just and fair Umma. There is no separation of church and politics. Life centers on the mosque not just for religious instruction, but for everything. Society should be founded on Islam, and all those who are different are held in contempt. Inside the mosque talk isn’t of integration, but rather how to protect oneself from harmful European society. Those members of the mosque who do not agree with this political Islam are shunned or forced out. The group dynamics change alienated young men into terrorists.

Basically, these individuals, with the help of their friends, recruit themselves. They do not necessarily attend terrorist camps or have experience on the battlefields (Johnson and Carreyrou: 2005). Their source of knowledge and indoctrination comes from the Internet. The Internet both appeals to and fosters disembeddedness. On the one hand, it appeals to isolated individuals by easing their loneliness through connections to people sharing some commonality. On the other hand, it leads them to spend more time with this virtual community at the expense of interaction with the immediate social environment. The chat rooms are egalitarian and appeal to those with limited theological background. It is a perfect compliment to the elegant simplicity and clarity of Salafism. The virtual community is not tied to any nation but to the abstract concept of the mythical umma of Salafism. This community is just, egalitarian, full of opportunity, unified in Islam, purged of national peculiarities, and devoid of corruption. It is the ideal world that Jihad strives for (Sageman, 2004: 161-163).

“He is a great guy, one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He is a loving husband and he has a wife and parents in town. They are a great family. He is a very kind person. You would meet him on the street and he would want to hug you. He was a normal guy always laughing. We went partridge hunting together. He was into partying. We hit some pretty wild clubs in Hollywood.” These are all quotes from people who knew individuals convicted of killing hundreds of people in suicide attacks or conspiring to provide money, recruits and equipment to the international Jihad.

Were they really decent fellows? They would never commit a murder or crime of any kind for personal gain or self-interest. Their ideology convinced them that the murders were committed for a good purpose. They were committed for the sake of a societal vision of building a good and just world. They are not unlike the SS during the Third Reich. Heinrich Himmler told a group of SS leaders:
“Most of you know what it means to see a hundred corpses lying together, five hundred or a thousand. To have gone through this and yet-apart from a few exceptions which are examples of human weakness-to have remained decent fellows, this is what has made us hard. This is a glorious page in our history that has never been written and shall never be written … ”

These people are not raving maniacs. We must go beyond calling them terrorists and examine their ideology. They do not perform these acts in a vacuum. They are building a society and will use any means to achieve it. They do so not because they are sociopaths who hate people, but because they are true believers who want to save people. And so we are continually surprised when they turn out to be nice guys after all. Decent fellows. Like the SS (Spenser, 2007).

Universal Non-Assimilation: Understanding Islam with Islamic Doctrine

Several years ago the UCLA Center for European and Eurasian Studies posted an article titled, “Is Europe Unable to Assimilate Its Growing Islamic Minority?”  The question itself is flawed, and because the question is flawed all the conclusions and suggested remedies are also entirely erroneous.

The truth of the matter is that Europe is fully capable of assimilating Muslims, but the doctrine of Islam prevents Muslims from assimilating. A better title would have been “Are Muslims able or willing to Assimilate to Western Host Cultures?” The answer is No.

The answer is No because the doctrine of Islam prevents assimilation and specifically commands that Muslims are not to befriend non-believers (kafirs). This explains the self-ghettoization of Muslim immigrants across Europe and in the United States. Muslims must submit to the Koran and the Koran is the perfect word of Allah. The Koran is very clear on this point: Muslims are not to befriend unbelievers. You may find this shocking or difficult to believe. This is not opinion; this is the Koran of Islam.

[3.118] O you who believe! do not take for intimate friends from among others than your own people; they do not fall short of inflicting loss upon you; they love what distresses you; vehement hatred has already appeared from out of their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater still; indeed, We have made the communications clear to you, if you will understand.

The message of Koran 3.118 cannot be clearer. Non-believers are not to be trusted, non-believers have ill-will towards believers, non-believers take pleasure in anything that “distresses” a Muslim. This is the command of the Koran. Is it any wonder then that Islam will not assimilate to the culture and way of life of their host countries?

Assimilation is not on the Islamic agenda, though it is very much on ours. This fundamental conflict of purposes must be understood and accepted as truth. It is in the Koran; for Muslims it is the truth.

[3.28] Let not the believers take the unbelievers for friends rather than believers; and whoever does this, he shall have nothing of (the guardianship of) Allah, but you should guard yourselves against them, guarding carefully; and Allah makes you cautious of (retribution from) Himself; and to Allah is the eventual coming.

The point is made again and again. Muslims are forbidden from taking  unbelievers as friends, as doing so puts one outside the Muslim worldview and outside the favor of Allah. Do not take the unbelievers for friends; only guard against them.

If the message is not yet clear, there is more. Islam is particularly unfriendly to Christians and Jews (the people of the book). There must be no friendly interaction between Muslims and all kafirs.

 [5.57] O you who believe! do not take for guardians those who take your religion for a mockery and a joke, from among those who were given the Book before you and the unbelievers; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah if you are believers. … this is because they are a people that do not understand.

In fact, even those family members who do not submit to Allah and Islam are to be shunned, friendships and associations ended forever. This is the command of the Koran for all those who submit (Muslims). Association with the unbelievers, even within the family, is forbidden because submission to Allah and the doctrine of Islam are far more important to Allah than the family itself.  Those who do this are the “unjust”.

[9.23] O you who believe! do not take your fathers and your brothers for guardians if they love unbelief more than belief; and whoever of you takes them for a guardian, these it is that are the unjust.

Recently, events in England illustrated these points clearly. British soldiers returning from Iraqi service were harangued by an angry mob of Muslims that accused the soldiers of butchery, murder, etc. These are British Muslims protesting British soldiers returning from war. Most importantly the soldiers are non-believers, kafirs, returning from war in the Islamic world against Muslims. For those who follow the doctrine of Islam, the idea of kafirs fighting Muslims in Muslim territory is impossible to countenance.

This was the scene (above) that greeted homecoming soldiers in Luton this week. Behind it is a community where integration has abjectly failed, breeding a small but rabid band of poisonous fanatics.

The call to morning prayers begins at dawn: ‘Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar’ (Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest). The voice echoes across the rooftops from an amplifier on a minaret at Luton Central Mosque. (more)

What is happening in England, our oldest allied country, our partner in democracy and the culture and society from whence our own sprouted, is the model of Islamization across Europe. Why? Because is it so successful.

HATE preacher Anjem Choudary will march in London today calling for Britain to adopt Islamic Sharia law.

The startling move comes just days after processions celebrating St George were banned for being racist. (more)

Choudary was given the green light yesterday despite a previous demonstration in which some of his supporters chanted: “Bomb the UK”.

When societies do not understand and acknowledge existential threats within their midst, when they do not have the political will to enforce the already existing laws to protect institutions and borders and when seditious and treasonous behavior is accepted with a wink and a nod, the host society is on a path of total failure and conquest from within.

This is the fate that we in the United States face. Islam will not assimilate because Muslims are commanded not to assimilate. Islam means “submission”. All cultures and political systems that are non-Muslim must submit. This is the purpose of political Islam.

Learn the doctrine of Islam. Everything that is done in the name of Islam becomes clear when one knows the doctrine of Islam. Muslims know their own doctrine, and live accordingly. We in the west are ignorant of it, and suffer the consequences. Learn the doctrine. Knowledge is power.
